NDT & ICATS Trainer
Allan joined the team at IMechE Fife NDT in January 2022 as an NDT & ICATS Trainer.
Allan will be supporting the technical team by providing PCN / SNT-TC-1A NDT training, in addition to Industrial Coatings Applicator Training Scheme (ICATS) courses at the facility in Dunfermline.
With over 13 years’ experience working as an NDT Technician and Coatings Inspector across a range of industries including Oil & Gas, Bridge & Building Construction, Power Generation, Pipelines and Railway Infrastructure; Allan has a wealth of knowledge and experience to draw upon when supporting students with their learning during their course.
Allan first entered the industry in 2009, gaining his PCN Ultrasonic Testing of Welds level 2 PCN qualification aged 16 years. He later progressed to gain a multitude of NDT certifications in Visual Testing, Magnetic Testing, Penetrant Testing, Basic Radiation Safety and Ultrasonic 3.7/3.8/3.9; in addition to achieving a Foundation of Science Degree in NDT. Allan also has Coatings certifications including Level 3 ICorr Coating Inspector, ICATS, NACE Coating Inspector & Thermal Metal Spray Inspector Level 2.
