Overview
The NDT Apprenticeship scheme have been created to address an ageing workforce whilst providing a clear route to a professional and rewarding career.
Developed by an employer group, lead by Rolls-Royce plc and supported by the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT), the apprenticeships provide employers substantial funding for a range of aspiring candidates, whether it’s school leavers or someone already working in the NDT industry.
We are leading the development of online NDT training and certification and this will be a key feature available to apprentices to support their development. Apprentices will have access to course notes and exercises, as well as the forum where they will be able to ask our trainers any questions they may have.
Courses will be normally delivered from the new multi-million pound Engineering Training Centre, just outside Sheffield city centre with excellent local amenities and transport links. Delegates will benefit from an excellent learning environment with the latest equipment and facilities on offer.
Training can also be provided at minimal extra cost on-site at your organisation, providing the necessary equipment is available and there are a minimum of three apprentices for each method and examination being delivered.
You can choose one method for the Level 2 NDT Operator Apprentice and three methods for the NDT Engineering Technician Apprenticeship from the following (available to PCN/ISO9712 or EN4179 standards):

- Magnetic Particle Testing
- Dye Penetrant Testing
- Visual Testing
- Eddy Current Testing
- Weld Inspector
- Radiographic Testing
- Time of Flight Diffraction (TOFD)
- Ultrasonic Phased Array (PAUT)
